I’ve chosen to do “No Shoes Day” as my day and I already posted a test video yesterday. Now I have a few ideas as to where the movie is going to end.
My original idea was to end over a chalk drawing of the logo Google. This idea I still like because it’s simple and still carries the message of going on adventures outside without wearing shoes. The camera angle wouldn’t have to change and the flow would be maintained. This is still a front-runner.
Two other ideas involve foot prints. I’m not sure how much I like these ideas because it feels too beachy. You know, running in the sand, the sound of water… this isn’t what I want to portray. When I thin of no shoe day, I think of the eccentrics of the urban landscape flaunting their weirdness by rejecting shoes. At the beach, no one wears shoes. It was good to experiment with, but I will not be using these ideas.
My 4th idea is a lineup of bare feet that have the Google logo painted on. I sort of like this because it implies community and togetherness – like if you were to leave your shoes at home for the day, you wouldn’t be alone. Also, it’s nice that 3 people have enough feet to cover all the letters in the word G-O-O-G-L-E. I don’t love the idea, but it could work.
My last idea is completely different. Instead of feet, the logo would be painted on a selection of shoes (that I’d have to get at Value Village or someplace inexpensive.) And instead of the long adventure movie I had planned, instead, I’d just film a pair of bare feet walking past all the shoes. I do like this idea. It’s so easy and effective. In the end, I may be leaning towards this idea – so long as I find these shoes to paint. Maybe I could do something digital? I’ll play around.
Leanna.
