final up!
I changed it to a more illustrated version, and the final outcome was World Clock Day
If you look closely, the cuckoo has an 'e', and one of the chimes on the clock are ocad's logo.
Also, try hovering over the bird
We now have a second blog just for project 3! Yeah! All your process will be scanned (if necessary) + posted here for review. Remember: an attempted animated/stop motion/interactive doodle with fair results will earn you the same mark as an excellent static (and linked) doodle. The reason I am encouraging this is because increasingly, employers will prefer (or demand) people with experience using animation and interactivity. You will probably have to start sometime, why not now?

Seeing as how I'm having technical difficulties with creating my webpage, attached is my static google along with a link to wikipedia showing the anniversary of the doodle, along with more in-depth bio of this event.

As I am still fiddling around with turning it into a static webpage, here is the concept.

Massive Work Dump.
Hey I havent had chance to reintroduce the new idea instead of the animation anniversary.
I decided to do Ocean Day. The celebration of the sea life and learning to protect it. On May 18th people learn a litte more about the sea world and its inhabitants and how to protect them
Heres a preview of the stuff before the final animation

My best work of Semester
This piece was done for the colour and context class. It was an emotion representation where we had to paint and digitally place the emotion within the art work. I chose this particular one because I am definitely not accustomed to paint as this was a challenge for me. Yes, I admire people who paint however when it comes to my painting skills I don't have the patience for it.
Colour is something that I like and can play around with however in different mediums.
The piece I believe did convey confusion as the theme is depicted in an ocean setting. It shows the boat in the air and the many fish swimming in the sky only to go in many directions. The word "confusion" was strategically placed to portray this projects objectives.

Googgle doodle - 2 that I chose from
I started off with a where's waldo theme however slowly moved to the Anniversary of Woodstock. The finished with the link to a wiki page is to come.

This here is my best work from the semester -------->
I don't consider it the height of my artistic ability and it doesn't necessarily portray a theme that I'm passionate about (although my favourite drink is tequila). The true reason why I consider this my best work out of the entire semester is because I created the work digitally on Adobe Photoshop.
Some people know Adobe like the back of their hand, but for me it's like a a whole new level of impossible... or at least it was.
My biggest struggle throughout this whole semester was finding a way to create "Good Art" on photoshop. I was struggling big time with this issue and it stressed me out SO MUCH because I felt like I was entirely limited in terms of the type of work I could produce.
Finally though, I took it upon myself to learn the damn thing. I signed up for some one-on-one time with my number one gal Bonnie and she taught me the ropes.
I'm very proud to say that this work was entirely created through Photoshop and this was a massive achievement for me. I'm excited to develop my Photoshop wizardry further and become a total master of the program!

Keith Haring Google Doodle Animation Procress
I realize the GIF isn't aligned properly and perhaps the second frame could use some work but this is just to give an idea of what I'm aiming for. It'll be a two frame interactive animation where you can hover with your mouse over each individually and they will appear as if you are making them dance!
Any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I really love this idea, especially because you managed to keep it simplified and make the flash effects the element which was most dominant. The colours stayed true to the original Google Logo, making this look extremely professional. You did an awesome job ! My only bit of advice would be to simplify the movement marks ["] around the forms in order to clean the work up a bit.

Google Earth Hour WIP
Here are a couple of step by step work in progresses I did for my Google Doodle. I spent hours on the light bulbs perfecting them. It was qu-
ite difficult as I decided to work extremely large in terms of pixels and when shrink
ing them they lost the details. As a r
esult I had to create vectors of them in order to preserve the details. (: Overall I am super happy with how clean the details became!
Hope you guys like the final,

Creation Process #2
Attached is the digital work that was created in photoshop and illustrator. I began by making a very intricate design for The Emerald City. I gave one of my first ideas an attempt just for the sake of trying and it really didn't work out too well. I had a very difficult time making the 'G' look like a real G, so I stuck with my original plan and added onto the image to create my new "l" in Google.
I then played with a few effects on photoshop including transparency, glow and saturation. I created an interesting style after a long attempt process. You can see the development of this style to the right.
The second step was playing around with typefaces, sizes, and the other smaller elements within the doodle. I made the decision to use this font to the right, and add a texture on photoshop which gave the letters a ruby slipper look- SPARKLES!!!
I had some decisions to make regarding the overall composition but decided on the final one seen in this attachment ---------->
The Creation Process #1
My initial idea was to involve Dorothy's tapping ruby slippers in my animated work. The shoes would tap when your mouse was dragged over them, very "there's no place like home" style. Joke's on me though, because this is a very complicated idea for someone who barely knows how to create a gradient in photoshop.
Instead I chose to use the iconic Emerald City in my google doodle and celebrate a made up holiday- National Wizard of Oz Day, (creative, I know). My big idea was to create each letter within the word Google in a way which made the word look like a unified Emerald City. Unfortunately, when I drew this out I came across a few issues and decided to make my life easier by simplifying the composition.
I played around with a few possibilities, as seen in the attached files, but ended up liking the final version best. With this form I was able to make the Emerald City a dominant element while also being able to add on to the composition and make it more personal. In this light, I also wanted to give the piece a personal 'style' and play around with photoshop elements once I started working on the computer.
